Alma Melton's Obituary
Alma Melton age 83 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Miss Melton was born on May 2, 1927 in Carroll County, Virginia to Everette and Lavada Hanks Melton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Maxine Green and brothers Berlin Melton, Clinton Melton, Rawden Melton and Swanson Melton.
She is survived by a brother Harold Melton of Galax, Va.; nephew J.W. Melton; nieces Percela Edwards, Marie Morrison and Berlene Sawyer; several great-nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, December 10, 2010 at 2PM in the Oakland United Methodist Church with Rev. Sharon Wright and Rev. Randy Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from one until service time at the church. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the Oakland United Methodist Church Building Fund or Pipers Gap Rescue Squad.
