Alma Grace Carter's Obituary
Alma Grace Smith Carter age 100 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mrs. Carter was born on October 25, 1915 in Alleghany County, North Carolina to Reed and Bertha Mae Edwards Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dewey Camden Carter; two children Joann Shupe and Jim Shupe; two sisters Audeen Shupe and Helen Shupe.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law Joyce and Gilbert Hatch of Florida; Hattie and Jim Bedsaul of Galax, Virginia; Mary and Curtis Bowers of Tazewell, Virginia; son Joe Carter of Galax, Virginia; sister Juanita Quesenberry of Galax, Virginia; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 8, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Ernie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Edmonds Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
