Alice Joye Taylor Hill of Woodlawn, VA passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010. She was born May 23, 1933 at Elbert WVA to George Charles and Glema Warf Taylor. Joye was preceded in death by her father, mother and step-father; Fred Burnett; a sister, Dorothy Jean Taylor; and Brother, Lester Edward Taylor.

She is survived by her husband: Coy S. Hill of Woodlawn; sons & daughters in law: William Roger Hill of Woodlawn; Danny & Joyce Mallory Hill and Ricky & Janet Goad Hill all of Galax, VA; grandchildren & spouses Chris & Ruth Sturgill Hill of Piney Creek, NC; Shannon H & Kenneth Young of Fancy Gap; Nancy H & Jeffrey Mankins of Woodlawn and Daniel Hill of Galax; great grandchildren Jacob Hill, Alexandria Hill and William Hill all of Piney Creek, NC; Alan Young & Kenzie Young both of Fancy gap; Reagan Mankins and Ellisyn Mankins both of Woodlawn; sister Sue Burnett Horton of Woodlawn; brothers & sisters-in-law: Joseph & Emma Burnett of Galax and Jack & Patricia Mercer Burnett of Beulaville, NC; sisters-in-law: Pearl Hill Stoneman and Betty Young Hill both of Woodlawn, VA.

The funeral service will be held Friday, January 29, 2010 at 2:30 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Harvey Carico and Pastor Larry Meyers. Interment will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until time for the service.
