Alice Elizabeth Hampton Manus age 94 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Manus was born on September 1, 1922 in Grayson County, Virginia to Thomas Mitchell and Leota Clyde Rector Hampton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband June I. Manus; sister Ona Laura Hampton; brothers Robert Odell Hampton; John Burnett Hampton and Joseph Gwyn Hampton.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Thomas J. and Layton Manus of Concord, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

A graveside service will be held Monday, April 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Gladeville Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Morris officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the church of the donor's choice or to the charity of the donor's choice.
