Albert "Al" Garson Jackson age 77 of Marion, Virginia and formerly of Galax, Va. passed away Monday, November 9, 2009 at Ridgefield Assisted Living in Marion, Va..

Mr. Jackson was born in Clendenin, West Virginia on October 29, 1932 to Albert F. & Dorothy Mae Larch Jackson.

Al was a member of the United States Air Force and received a National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1954. He was a field engineer for many years and worked for numerous companies around the world, including NASA. Al enjoyed traveling, gardening, and was talented in electronics and computers.

He is survived by his former wife Denise Boman of Tularosa, New Mexico; daughter Heather Jackson of Salem, Connecticut; son Lance Jackson of Lake Mary, Florida; sister Donna Jackson Parrish of Tobaccoville, N.C.; special friends Mack & Margaret Norman.

The funeral service will be held Friday, November 13, 2009 at 1:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Rodney Christman officiating.
Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery with Military Rites by Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 pm until service time at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
