Agnes Vernelle Simpson the last surviving child born to John Phelmon and Eva Lora Patton Littreal, age 82 of Fries, Virginia passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Simpson was born in Grayson County, Virginia on September 15, 1929. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Edward Simpson and very special daughter Mary Lee Simpson; two sisters and six brothers.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law Robbie and Diane Simpson of Christiansburg, Virginia; John Eddie Simpson of Fries, Virginia; grandchildren and spouse Amy Roberts, Jessie Simpson; Morgan Simpson, Matt & Connie Linkous, Melissa Ward; great-grandchildren Josh Hancock, Brianna Hancock and Trinton Simpson; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 15, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
